Project Registration

Registering a LEED project is the first step toward earning LEED certification. Once registered, project teams receive information, tools, and communication that will help guide through the certification process.
Eligibility
Currently, the rating systems open to new registration for LEED certification include:
- LEED for New Construction v2.2
- LEED for Core & Shell v2.0
- LEED for Commercial Interiors v2.0
- LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance
- LEED for Schools
- LEED for Homes
These additional restrictions apply:
Residential
All single family homes and low-rise residential construction must use the LEED for Homes Rating System. Multi-family projects between 4 and 6 stories may use either LEED for Homes, or LEED for New Construction.
Schools
As of April 20, 2007, all new construction and major renovations of K-12 school facilities seeking LEED certification must use the LEED for Schools Rating System. LEED for New Construction can no longer be used to certify K-12 school building projects.
Canada
Projects in Canada should first speak with the Canada GBC for project registration at info@cagbc.org or 1-866-941-1184.
India
Projects based in India that wish to use the LEED for New Construction Rating System and the LEED for Core and Shell Rating System must register with the India Green Building Council.
Existing Buildings
Beginning September 1, 2008, all projects registering for LEED for Existing Buildings must do so under the LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance version. Projects that register for LEED for Existing Buildings version 2.0 before September 1 will be given the opportunity to continue their certification under version 2.0 or upgrade to LEED for Existing Buildings: O&M.
Fees
LEED registration is a flat fee paid up front at the time of registration. The rates are as follows:
Members $450.00
Non-Members $600.00
If your company is a USGBC member, your corporate ID must be added to your site account in order to receive member pricing. If you cannot locate your company’s corporate ID, contact us.
