LEED Resources Intern
USGBC has an opportunity for a currently-enrolled student to undertake a practical learning experience through an unpaid internship with its LEED team. The LEED Resources Intern will assist LEED resource development team in the production of multimedia resources related to the launch of LEED v4. This includes, but not limited to, graphics, audio, and video modules.
Through this position, the LEED Resources Intern will gain knowledge of LEED, while increasing proficiency applying media and graphics software to support organizational resource development. The LEED Resources Intern is encouraged to bring creativity to the position and must be professional, and enjoy working as a team. The intern must be available to work in USGBC’s Washington, D.C. office. This is an unpaid position. Candidates will be expected to work between 20-30 hours/week from late June 2013 through August 2013.
Internship details include:
- Collaborate with the LEED resource team in the development of multimedia and graphics components to support LEED reference guide, webinars, and instructor led workshops
- Assist in the collection of materials from subject matter experts
- Edit audio and video using GarageBand
- Generate graphics using InDesign
Education & trainings requirements/preferences
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program of study
- Enrollment in a sustainability, education, eLearning, or instructional design degree program, preferred
- Graphic design and/or multimedia production coursework preferred
Experience requirements
- Proficient in basic features of InDesign software
- Familiarity with editing audio and video files in GarageBand
- Knowledge of Vimeo platform for web-based video delivery
- Commitment to USGBC’s mission
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize projects with multiple and often competing deadlines
- Ability to work under-pressure and fast paced environment
- Strong writing, communications, and organization skills and an attention to detail
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to learn new software applications with ease
- Must be eligible for course credit
