Membership Program Internship

USGBC is a nonprofit member-based organization which provides valuable benefits and services to USGBC national member organizations. USGBC recently revised its membership program to offer more value and to enable greater flexibility and customization.

The USGBC Membership Program Intern will organize the documentation and tracking of the membership offerings and work with the membership program manager to develop and market new offerings to specific industry sectors as appropriate. The intern will liaise with multiple departments in order to ensure effectively delivery of existing benefits and will generate campaigns to new markets. The membership program intern will learn about nonprofit membership operations, program development, project management and outreach campaigns.

Internship details include:

  • Collect data for tracking in excel/access database
  • Identify target markets for outreach
  • Research target markets to determine relevant benefits
  • Develop new membership benefits as needed
  • Market new offerings to target audience

Education & trainings requirements/preferences

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program of study

Experience requirements

  • Previous work experience in team/office setting preferred

  • Other required skills and qualifications

    • Commitment to USGBC’s mission
    • General understanding of green building industry and corporate functions related to green building
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Self-motivated and detail oriented
    • Strong organization skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
    • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel
    • Experience using Salesforce or online data management software preferred
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
    • Passion for and commitment to USGBC mission
