USGBC is seeking qualified members who are knowledgeable in the field of green building, sustainable design, and instructional design to review courses for its Education Provider Program. The Education Provider Program offers high-quality professional development courses that go beyond the LEED Rating System and are vetted through a third-party review process. To become a third-party course reviewer, volunteers must take an online training course that explains the review process, the program's criteria, and the key educational elements of adult learning.
Additional volunteer qualifications include:
- At least five years of professional experience in the green building industry
- Active membership in a professional organization related to building industry discipline
- Higher education in a relevant discipline
- Expertise in the subject matter they are reviewing
A list of current Education Provider Program reviewers can be found on the USGBC website. To view the extensive catalog of green building continuing education courses already reviewed and approved, please visit www.greenbuild365.org.
Benefits to volunteer course reviewers:
In exchange for reviewing one to two courses a month, reviewers will be recognized and promoted as a resource for education providers. They will also be able to provide their organization with inside knowledge of the review process and techniques that will add value to their own green building courses. In addition, reviewers who are also Education Providers can receive one free course review after completing 12 course reviews a year.
