Associate Program Planner, Greenbuild Conference & Events

USGBC is seeking a talented and enthusiastic professional to join our Conference and Events team. This position will support Conference and Events Director and Event Content Manger in coordinating the delivery of the conference education program, associated summits and supporting the communication tied to these events. The Associate Program Planner will assist in coordination and execution of meeting logistics for Greenbuild as well as information preparation for committee and working group meetings and retreats.

Specific responsibilities include

  • Coordinate and execute the Greenbuild continuing education program process
  • Liaise with internal USGBC departments in preparation for certain summits at Greenbuild
  • Assist with general Greenbuild Program needs; as needed with specialty updates, speaker changes and proofing presentations
  • Support the Greenbuild Host Committee Subcommittees (specifically the Volunteers Subcommittee)
  • Coordinate and execute all programming associated with stages on the Expo Hall floor
  • Assist in coordination and execution of meeting logistics for Greenbuild, including: Signage, Event Notebooks, marketing materials, etc.
  • Assist with information preparation and dissemination for Greenbuild-related committee and working group meetings
  • Assist in coordinating conference communication, including e-mail and telephone customer service
  • Other duties as assigned

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Experience

  • 2-3 years progressively responsible and successful conference experience with association or other organization
  • Overall knowledge/experience of all aspects of conference planning including registration, logistics, CEUs, program development, and audio visual
  • Experience in event coordination or meeting planning preferred
  • Experience with sustainability or greening initiatives preferred

  • Passion for and commitment to USGBC mission
  • Exceptional Computer skills including demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database management, internet, e-mail
  • Experience with use of advanced communication techniques like email, web-sites
  • Excellent written communication
  • Strong strategic, tactical, and linguistic skills
  • Deadline-oriented, multi-tasking
  • Commitment to USGBC mission
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
