From the Help Center: The rookie's guide to USGBC membership
Get the basics on USGBC national and community membership, discounts and renewals.
USGBC’s vision for efficient, healthy and sustainable buildings for all is supported by our members, from the Fortune 500 company based on the East Coast to the architect living in rural Arizona.
Our membership network represents a mosaic of professions and markets, all possessing a shared attribute: a passion for better buildings and their rewards for our future.
From the USGBC Help Center, here’s a quick recap about USGBC membership. We also encourage you to submit questions if you can’t find what you’re looking for.
What types of USGBC membership are available?
You can experience the heart of our grassroots efforts as a member of a local USGBC community, or join as a USGBC national member organization, connecting with a nationwide fellowship of thousands of other companies and their many employees.
USGBC community membership
For individuals, USGBC communities provide local opportunities for active involvement and leadership through learning, networking and other professional development activities.
Communities also raise awareness of green building through outreach and advocacy in that area. Find your local USGBC community.
USGBC national membership
For companies and organizations, USGBC national membership is offered at four levels: Organizational, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
We understand every organization has different needs, so we provide every member with the same core benefits and the flexibility to choose the package best suited to your organization.
How much does it cost to join USGBC?
Annual dues are based on the level of benefits and access that you select. Learn more.
Who can receive membership discounts?
Individuals who are full-time employees of a USGBC national member organization are entitled to USGBC discounts on LEED reference guides, USGBC education and professional credential exams. Learn how to be recognized as an employee of your organization through your account.
Individuals who are members of a local USGBC community are entitled to benefits and discounts offered by that USGBC community only.
How do I renew my organization’s membership?
Ninety days before your company’s renewal deadline, you and all other employees will receive a renewal reminder in your usgbc.org accounts.
To renew, select the “Renew Now” button. This takes you to the Join Center’s payment page, where you will see your company’s details. You can update your company information and enter your payment information on the spot.
If you pay by credit card, your payment will be processed and your membership renewed immediately. You’ll have the option to sign up for auto-renewal, which will automatically charge your credit card on file when your next membership renewal is due.
If you pay by check, an invoice will be created. Print the invoice and mail it, along with your check, to USGBC, P.O. Box 404296, Atlanta, GA 30384-4296.
No matter which payment you use, you’ll receive a receipt listing your payment details. Access the membership renewal application.
