Check out our top Help Center answers on Education @USGBC.

Education @USGBC is the premier online platform for LEED and green building education, designed and developed by leading sustainability experts around the world.

It’s where you’ll find on-demand LEED professional exam prep, courses on key sustainability concepts and data, and LEED rating systems—opening the door to helping you earn continuing education hours. Courses are offered at a variety of learning levels and in several different languages.

We’ve rounded up the top five FAQs in our Help Center about the Education @USGBC platform. We also encourage you to submit questions to the Help Center if you can’t find what you’re looking for.

1. What is a badge?

A badge is a digital symbol of recognition that complies with the Open Badge specification.

GBCI issues badges to signify awards and achievements—such as credentials and certificates—on usgbc.org and to reward or proficiency in distinct knowledge areas. See what badges you can earn from GBCI.

2. How do I report continuing education (CE) hours taken through the Education @USGBC subscription?

For LEED credential holders, USGBC will automatically upload your CE hours into your credentialing account as soon you pass the course quiz. You’ll also have access to a personalized certificate upon completion of each course.

For AIA credentials, add your AIA number to your USGBC account to enable automated reporting. Please allow for 10 business days after you complete a course (pass the quiz) for it to be added to your account.

3. How can I get my course approved for GBCI Continuing Education credit?

Course reviews may be purchased for $250 per review (bulk discounts available).

4. What type of continuing education credit are the courses on Education @USGBC registered for? Are any of the sessions approved for LEED-specific Continuing Education hours?

Use the "Continuing Education" filter(s) on the left side of the course page to locate LEED-specific courses. You can check the box that corresponds to your LEED specialty, or check all LEED credentials to see all LEED-specific content.

Additionally, each course page lists the specific CE hours for which it’s approved. Many of the courses are approved for LEED-specific hours and AIA/CES LU/HSW hours. Please consult the individual course pages for more information.

5. What does it mean to be an Education Partner?

USGBC Education Partners are the leaders of green building and sustainability education. At USGBC, we’re focused on supporting the partner network to ensure they have the resources, knowledge and skills to produce best-in-class education.

If you’re interested in becoming an education partner, please complete the application form. For any further questions, please  email the Education Team

Carpenter, Philadelphia Carpenters Joint Apprentice Committee
I have taken all the free courses I can find and I'm still 4 CE hours short. Do you know of any other ways to get CE hours? I have until June 2017.

Hi Daniel, Many activities qualify for GBCI CE hours. Please see the Credential Maintenance Program Guide for more information :http://www.usgbc.org/resources/cmp-guide. Also visit the USGBC website often and sign up for Education email in your user account to stay up to date, as new courses are added frequently!
