Join a USGBC National Capital Region committee or task force
Make an impact on your community by joining a USGBC National Capital Region committee or task force.
Are you looking to become more involved with the green building movement? Would you like to make an impact on your local community? Interested in building your leadership skills and resume? USGBC National Capital Region invites you to participate on one of our volunteer committees or task forces.
We are currently recruiting for the following opportunities:
- Emerging Professionals Social Events Host Committee: This committee will plan and execute sustainability-based educational, philanthropic and networking events to bring together young professionals just starting their careers.
- A Midsummer Night's Green Host Committee: This committee will help plan and execute USGBC National Capital Region's biggest event of the year, our annual A Midsummer Night's Green fundraiser and Awards of Excellence reception.
- Emerging Professionals Professional Development Task Force: This task force will create an educational series focused on helping young professionals achieve their career goals.
- Commercial Interiors Task Force: This task force will develop targeted educational programming around industry trends related to commercial interiors.
Serving on a committee is a great way to meet and meaningfully engage with others in your industry, and you can also earn continuing education credits. The bulk of the work for these groups will happen in the second or third quarter of the year. Calls for additional volunteer groups will go out later this spring. You are encouraged to participate in multiple opportunities throughout the year, as your schedule allows.
Applications for the above committees and task forces are due by 11:59 p.m. on Thurs., March 23. Please be sure to read the committee and task force descriptions above before applying. Please contact Jennifer Wellman-Andryuk with any questions.
