Favorite part about working for USGBC?

The opportunity to see the ways that USGBC operates as a eco-system. Ideas are created regarding how buildings shall be built and operated. Those ideas are then manifested in projects; credentials; academic studies; terminology; professional networks; and markets. Working from my vantage point reveals powerful connections among those manifestations.

What's your typical day like at USGBC?

Most of my days are focused on a unique kind of knowledge management. They involve projects which will: promote the recognition and application of continuing education; add layers to our business analytics efforts; and channel corporate knowledge into new products. My favorite business tool is MS Access.

Who would you invite to your dream dinner party?

My wife and two sons, Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Frank Jackson (philosopher), Fred Hammond, my mom, my mother-in-law, John Merrow, Ron Takaki, Ray Suarez, Wynton Marsalis, Sergio Mendes, Lawrence Tribe, Travis Price, David Adjaye

Current book on your nightstand?

Complex Knowledge: Studies in Organizational Epistemology (Tsoukas and Chia)

Best piece of advice you've ever received?

The unexamined life is not worth living.
