Take a look at upcoming USGBC National Capital Region's volunteers and upcoming events.

Volunteers are the heart of USGBC National Capital Region. They play a central role in advancing the mission of USGBC in the Washington, D.C., metro area. Our volunteer committees and task forces plan our educational and fundraising events, help us reach new audiences and new members and do the heavy lifting on community service days.

For National Volunteer Week, we’d like to take a moment to acknowledge and thank the volunteers who are currently serving on USGBC National Capital Region committees and task forces. Thanks to them, we recently hosted a successful Green Tie Affair fundraiser and our fourth annual Montgomery County Energy Summit.

In the coming months, we will be hosting:

  • An educational series on greening existing buildings
  • Our annual Women in Green Power Breakfast
  • An educational series focusing on commercial interiors
  • A tour of a net-zero school
  • A series of professional development and social events for Emerging Professionals
  • Our annual Midsummer Night’s Green fundraiser and Awards of Excellence reception
  • A volunteer day to help green the facility of a local shelter and nonprofit for women who are homeless

You can get more information on these initiatives, and on upcoming volunteer opportunities, by signing up for our e-newsletter.

Thank you to the volunteers below for dedicating their time and talents to our local community. Their hard work and commitment makes the D.C. metro area a greener, healthier and more equitable place in which we can live, learn, work and play.
