Register for the March 16 Piedmont Triad Signature Event (USGBC North Carolina)
Register for the USGBC North Carolina Piedmont-Triad Signature Event, and see the Sustainability Awards presentation.
Come celebrate with USGBC North Carolina on March 16, as we announce the winners of the 2017 Piedmont Triad Sustainability Awards and inspire everyone with our keynote speaker, Councilman Dan Besse.
Councilman Besse will be discussing sustainable leadership in our region, followed by the announcement of the award winners over seven categories in sustainable leadership. The finalists have been notified, but there are some surprises in there, so you'll have to come to the event and share in the fun. The evening will include time for networking, dinner and learning about the exciting work being created in our community.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available: Sponsor a table for $500 and your company logo will be display. (Finalists who wish to sponsor a table can do so at a special rate of $450.)
Built Green Residential, Large Commercial and Small Commercial
This award recognizes a for-profit or nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that has created a project, in the Piedmont-Triad area, that demonstrates the systematic integration of sustainability and/or LEED certification standards. (Projects do not need to be LEED-, WELL-, SITES-, or PEER-certified, but preference is given to those that are.) Nominees include local residential, commercial or neighborhood development projects that are currently in design or that have been already constructed. One award may be given for each of three project types: residential, small commercial and large commercial.
A Green Apple a Day
This award recognizes local educational organizations, K–12 or higher education, that exemplify leadership by integrating sustainability into their school’s curriculum, culture, operations and student lifestyles, as well as into the surrounding community.
This award seeks to recognize an innovative solution to a green building problem that addresses water, lighting, energy, waste, operations and maintenance plan, landscaping or grounds, etc. This award is an open-ended category where innovative design features take precedence over buildings.
Fearless Leader (Established Professional and Emerging Professional)
The leadership award recognizes individuals who exemplify outstanding leadership abilities by means of industry-related research, innovation, education or volunteer work. The Individual Award is reserved for those with more than five years of professional experience in the sustainability field. The Emerging Professional Award is reserved for young professionals with fewer than five years in the sustainability field.
