School retrofit financing: get guidance in 60 minutes
If you’re heading to Greenbuild 2013 Conference and Expo in November, don’t miss the chance to attend the Center for Green School’s education session: “Green Schools Investment Guide.” Led by the Center's director Rachel Gutter and colleagues from Architecture for Humanity, this charette-style session offers the chance to work with fellow attendees to apply concepts for planning, financing and implementing school building improvements designed to improve resource efficiency, occupant health and academic performance.
Our nation’s schools require an estimated $542 billion to be modernized and brought up to working order, and this session will equip you with the tools to be a leader in the movement to chip away at that distressing deferred maintenance bill. Using the recently-released Green School Investment Guide as a resource, attendees will work alongside one another to respond to a real-world-inspired proposal to design a school building improvement plan that maximizes human and financial returns-on-investment. In this fast-paced, learn-by-doing charette, you’ll pick up best practices from fellow schools sector professionals from around the country, as well as insights on processes for designing an improvement plan maximized for success.
