It would be helpful if there was a timeline piece to the tool to help you choose between LEED 2009 and LEED V4. Projects just starting can choose either and it would be helpful to use this tool to transition between the two.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've shared it with the development team...
Hi, can any one help me to know about platinum certification for commercial interiors ?. The project is located in Kolkata, India. we have to do renovation for particular floor(3rd). The building belongs to a corporate house and they wanted only one floor to be platinum rated. The building is about 100 years old. is it possible to process this case?

Hello Subramanyam - yes, you can definitely use LEED for this project. There are many projects that are even older, which have been certified including the U.S. Treasury Building. We can put you in touch with someone in India to help, if you send me an email

Agreed but if i pick new building as opposed to existing building than it seems to be a better fit as a major renovation. The tool never asked if it was whole building, part of building 40% 60% etc...

Just tried this out...I love the idea..BUT New Building, Non-Residential, Interior Fit out comes up ID+C...Thinking that it should be BD+C...
Director, Marketing, USGBC
Hi Neil, good question. BD+C only applies if the project includes the whole building. Thanks for the feedback!
