It appears that many USGBC articles only give me an opportunity to point out that the while the USGBC has very extensive requirements for sustainability (which is good) there are minimal requirements for building envelop energy efficiency (which is bad). Can't the USGBC see that being concerned about carbon footprints AND then not being concerned about the huge carbon footprint relating to buildings' energy efficiency is oxymoronic?
I agree, you get points for all kind of items, but there is no or very little encouragement for adding insulation or basic improvements to conserve energy outside of new equipment etc.
