USGBC and the Congressional Green Schools Caucus Celebrate Princeton Review Guide to Green Colleges

Published on Written by Posted in Center for Green Schools

On Tuesday evening, April 24, USGBC co-hosted a reception with the Congressional Green Schools Caucus to celebrate the third annual release of the Princeton Review’s Guide to 322 Green Colleges, 2012 Edition.
The program featured remarks from Congressman Robert Dold (R-IL), co-chair of the Congressional Green Schools Caucus, who welcomed the attendees to Capitol Hill and spoke about the importance of green schools. Jayson Greene from the Princeton Review discussed their imperative to create this popular resource and Andrea Trimble from Harvard University’s Office for Sustainability, who also serves as a National Chair for USGBC Students, provided case studies about sustainability efforts on college campuses universities, and announced Harvard’s 75 LEED certification.

The guide, developed with generous support from the Center’s founding sponsor United Technologies Corp. (UTC), profiles the top institutions demonstrating exemplary leadership in sustainability through their academic offerings, infrastructure projects on campus, student engagement and career preparation. This book is the only free, comprehensive, annually updated guide to green colleges and serves as a valuable resource for the 68 percent of prospective students who say they are looking for a green campus in their college search. Read the press release, view the article in USA Today or search the guide for your alma mater or dream green school!
