USGBC Central Pennsylvania: Education and networking in Harrisburg

USGBC Central Pennsylvania invites you to join an event from two of our partners. AIA Pennsylvania and the SMPS Central Pennsylvania chapter have teamed up for a joint networking event in Harrisburg, Penn. on Thursday, Feb. 18 at Appalachian Brewing Company.

At this event, you can network with fellow marketing and business development professionals, as well as leading architectural firms from throughout the area. Both associations are excited about this opportunity to provide value to our respective members looking to grow their business network.

When: Thursday, February 18, 2016

4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.: Architectural and engineering ethics course (with Q&A to follow)
5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.: Networking

Where: Appalachian Brewing Company, 50 North Cameron Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101

Cost: Continuing education lecture only: $15
Networking only: $25
Continuing education and networking: $40

The one-hour continuing education course for architectural and engineering professionals will be presented by Anthony S. Potter, Esq., of Powell Trachtman Logan Carrle & Lombardo, P.C. This course has been registered for 1.5 LU/HSW AIA credits and is intended to provide an introduction to architectural and engineering ethics, covering state registration and licensing laws, conflict of interest and pay-to-play. Case studies will also be discussed.

Learning objectives:

  1. Identify ethical issues and create a framework for resolution.
  2. Analyze professional ethics and standards of professional conduct.
  3. Examine licensing laws and regulations.
  4. Understand how court decisions and licensing board adjudications affect ethical standards.
