The Dynamic Green Home program is a partnership between USGBC Minnesota and nonprofit community development corporations. USGBC Minnesota connects volunteer teams from the local community to contribute to the sustainable restoration and rehabilitation of foreclosed homes within the area.

A component to the volunteer experience includes educational talks and demonstrations on sustainable home improvements by industry experts. The Dynamic Green Home Program is structured to allow organizations that support the important work of renovating damaged housing and achieving green certification to be a part of making positive change.

We offer a unique experience to those involved:

  1. Volunteers assist with noncritical work, coordinated by a project manager. All critical work is performed by a general contractor.
  2. Volunteers received educational sessions from industry experts, who teach about the green building techniques that can be applied to their personal homes.
  3. Organizations, industry experts and volunteers are acknowledged through social media, video, photos and team-building activities.
