USGBC South Carolina community takes part in iMAGINE Upstate festival
Watch a video about how USGBC South Carolina community members took part in the iMAGINE Upstate festival this spring.
With around 20,000 attendees coming through the iMAGINE Upstate festival from March 26 to April 9, the USGBC South Carolina community was a resource to students of all ages. The festival was held in the West End of downtown Greenville, South Carolina, as well as in the Greenville Drive Stadium. Over 3,000 people used the free public transit to get downtown on April 2, and the free trolley was a huge hit from the parking lots.
Highlighting unmanned aviation, upstate conservation and alternative energy in the automotive industry were major initiatives for the 2016 festival. Imagine Upstate’s mission is to create meaningful experiences that promote a culture of lifelong learning and career readiness, with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM); innovation; and entrepreneurial activity in upstate South Carolina.
The iMAGINE Upstate festival is a signature experience held in the beautiful downtown of Greenville. The focus is on student preparedness and facilitate collaboration among industry partners, academic institutions, nonprofit organizations and the community. Together, we were able to reach students in a new and exciting way.
