USGBC Central Plains Chapter is dedicated to the vision that buildings and communities will regenerate and sustain the vitality of all life within this generation. Our Mission: To lead the regional transformation of the built environment by promoting ecologically responsible, cost effective, productive and healthy places to live, learn and work. Our Vision: A region where the built environment is ecologically, financially, and socially responsible, producing healthy places in which to live, learn and work.
Celebrating our 10th year in 2014, the Central Plains Chapter is a 501(c)3 non-profit serving the entire state of Kansas and western Missouri. The Chapter invokes the tenets of our mission through a variety of service- and education-related activities designed to assist and empower all people – regardless of class, race, culture or credo – to transform their communities for themselves and future generations. We accomplish this by community-oriented, educational and green schools programming.
Our outreach efforts include educational programming for local K-12 schools, community revitalization projects in underserved neighborhoods, and awareness and advocacy efforts with local and state municipalities. We achieve our mission through the efforts of over 100 volunteers and partner organizations, backed by financial support from individuals, companies and small businesses.
