Our Vision is a building environment which will regenerate and sustain the health and vitality of East Tennessee.

Our mission is to facilitate and promote planning, design, construction and operation of buildings and built communities that are environmentally, socially, and fiscally responsible.

Priority programs and objectives

High-Performing & Healthy Schools: to increase the number of green (energy and resource-efficient) and healthy public schools in our communities. Projects include an annual High Performing & Healthy Schools Symposium, a Green Schools app, Green School Profiles, Green Apple Day of Service and traveling green schools presentations.
Making the Case: to increase demand among building owners and operators for green building design and practices. Projects include coordination with regional planning efforts and Green Light Awards.
Professional Education Program: to ensure building professionals have the knowledge required to design buildings that are healthier, use less energy, and meet other criteria for green buildings, especially as defined by LEED. Projects include live lunch presentations, webinars and workshops.
