Green Building Alliance (GBA) is a community benefit organization headquartered in LEED Platinum offices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. GBA inspires the creation of healthy, high performing places for everyone by providing leadership that connects knowledge, transformative ideas, and collaborative action. Founded in 1993, GBA is celebrating 20 years this year! GBA was the first U.S. Green Building Council affiliate and became a USGBC Chapter in 2012. GBA services the 26 counties of Western PA through 3 Branch areas: Greater Pittsburgh, Laurel Highlands, and Northwest Pennsylvania.
A regional catalyst, GBA strives to meet the ever-growing and changing
demands of the green building marketplace through multiple initiatives that
demonstrate and prove the value of high performing and healthy places to an
even broader market; these programs include the:
(1) Pittsburgh 2030 District,
(2) Green Schools Academy,
(3) DASH: Database for Analyzing Sustainable & High Performance Buildings;
(4) Knowledge Network
GBA’s Knowledge Network delivers a wide range of online resources related
to green building, including project, product, and service provider
directories; fact sheets on healthy and high performing buildings; regional
benchmark data; local event opportunities; and online learning. GBA engages a
range of stakeholders through a variety of approaches, including webinars,
tours, education sessions, member-only events, trainings, and fundraisers.
GBA's board of directors and staff share a passionate commitment to making
Western Pennsylvania a leader in green building practices. The board is
comprised of experienced community leaders with a wide range of professional
skills and vital links to GBA's many audiences.
