We are the Mississippi chapter of the nation's foremost coalition of leaders from across the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.

Our mission is to promote and champion design and building practices that sustain health, resources, and prosperity in Mississippi. Our vision is environmentally, economically, and socially responsible buildings and communities that value and preserve our natural resources for future generations.

The Mississippi Chapter is made up of 5 committees. We are always looking for people to get involved with our chapter and serve on one of our committees. Please contact us if you are a current member of our chapter and would like to help out by serving on a committee.

The Government Committee’s goals are to identify and reach out to local elected officials and relevant government agencies/departments, identify potential barriers and develop strategies to address and support and aid in the publicity of any positive developments. The Membership Committee creates and fosters relationships with members. Dues from local and national memberships play a critical role in supporting our outreach efforts (events/programs) which ultimately educate the public on the mission of USGBC and our local chapter. The Programs / Events Committee’s goals are to develop an on-going schedule for programs and events, oversee execution of programs and events and seek alliances with other organizations for joint programs focusing on common topics or interests. The Communications Committee’s job is to uphold USGBC standards and support the overall mission of USGBC and our local chapter through a "common voice" and "look." The Finance Committee provides sound fiscal management adhering to the guidelines established for non-profit organizations, ensuring that membership dues and other funds are used responsibly and efficiently.
