The U.S. Green Building Council Southwest Virginia Chapter takes sustainable building to the forefront of the communities where we live, work and play, a region extending from Roanoke to Lynchburg, Abingdon, and Lexington. We provide educational opportunities to members and the general public at workshops, community forums and expos.
The U.S. Green Building Council Southwest Virginia Chapter promotes
sustainable practices for the built environment through education and
leadership in our community. In these lean economic times, we are fortunate
to be a part of a growing industry sector – green building. We are also
very proud to be a chapter of the fastest growing non-profit organization in
the world – the U.S. Green Building Council.
Participating in events such as the Green Living and Energy Expo, Grandin Gardens Earth Day events, Environment Virginia and Sustainable Blacksburg, we promote green building practices. We provide educational opportunities through our LEED® workshops and aforementioned monthly meetings. We also have advocacy groups that work to promote healthy environments in our homes and our schools.
