USGBC Florida affects positive change every day by addressing one of the biggest users of resources in the world: buildings.

We are serious about affecting triple bottom-line change and making buildings resilient and regenerative. USGBC Florida aims to do more good with buildings rather than less harm. Imagine buildings that generate more energy than they use, clean their own water, process their own waste, grow a portion of their food, help us heal from trauma, and that are resilient, healthy and happy places!

This is our goal. One Green Florida.

Join the movement

With USGBC Florida’s focus on education, awareness, market transformation and policy advancement, and our guiding principles of integrity, transparency, leadership, unity, respect, equity, sharing and innovation, our volunteers keep the bar high, and deliberately and strategically accelerate the high-performing, healthy green-building movement.

There is no time to waste, particularly in Florida – ground zero for the economic impacts of sea-level rise, with the greatest value of assets at risk in the world. Between the Atlantic Ocean, the Everglades and the Panhandle, land, water and resources are limited. If such valuable commodities are to be available to future generations, everything must be used as it is in nature — with ingenuity and without waste.

The USGBC Florida Chapter, a nonprofit (501[c][3]) organization that is governed entirely by volunteers who serve without recompense, has seven Regions and eight Branches. Our Chapter has more than 1,000 dedicated members and nearly 20,000 company contacts, and would enthusiastically welcome you and your business to our group. Our members are engaged in numerous educational and outreach activities, making a real difference in our broad and diverse Sunshine State community. It’s through the work of our volunteers at the Region and Branch level that our Chapter's education and advocacy efforts flourish.

Activities range from our monthly educational programs to instructive tours of green facilities, from social networking (e.g., Facebook, and LinkedIn) to green gatherings, from helping municipalities and school districts with their green initiatives to co-sponsorship of green conferences and events. Our volunteer expert leadership has educated local government officials and CEOs about sustainability, brought in high-profile speakers for important conferences, celebrated the holidays together, worked with children and educators to teach green principles, sponsored study sessions for eager students ... and much more.
