ICSC#s RetailGreen will provide a fresh view of how sustainability is changing the retail landscape for retailers and for retail real estate developers and operators. Conference sessions will discuss re-use, reduction of the environmental footprint, enhancementof efficiencies, and how retail real estate professionals can better preserve the environment and promote health in indoor environmental quality. Sessions will discuss what are the less polluting and more resource-efficient practices being used today to promote the well-being of building occupants, to result in less drain on the urban infrastructure and natural resources.
The target audience includes, bit is not limited to, management; operations; and development, design and construction professionals who are employed, or contracted, by developers and retail store chains. There are no prerequisites to attendance. Attendees come from a broad variety of job titles, sizes of properties and property types from around the world.
Participants will hear why and how to build #green stores# and #green shopping centers# efficiently and effectively. They will learn methods that save money for the property (andthe tenants) while making the environment sustainable for future generations.
Sessions are designed to help centers and retailersimprove their performance through greater sustainability actions, so properties can become more successful now and to insure theirfuture.
The conference will include General and Concurrent Sessions; Interactive Workshops; and Roundtable Sessions with industryexperts speaking to the latest issues in sustainability, energy and environmental design; plus, a class on LEED for Retail 2012
Objectives
Create the business case for achieving LEED certification and how it can play a role in your
organization
Assess how the eventual implementation of the IgCC International Green Construction Code will
change shopping center construction and construction standards going forward
Come away with a comprehensive understanding of how ESCO and Point of Purchase contracts are
structured, what the incentives are, and when these financing tools may not be the best option
Learn the current status of federal regulations on stormwater controls, lead paint in commercial
buildings, and energy efficiency, among other regulations that are in consideration or have recently passed in U.S. state and federal government legislatures.
