Advanced Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) Design and Construction

Format On Demand: Online
Offered by AEC Daily Corporation
Category Materials and resources

This 1 hour course for architects, engineers, specifiers, contractors, commercial and residential builders provides an overview of insulated concrete form construction (ICF) and includes discussions on the financial and sustainable benefits of ICFs, design considerations, the installation process, flooring systems, and project applications. No prerequisite knowledge required to take this course. The reader should be able to describe an ICF and it's components, identifying how these contribute to a durable, safe, energy efficient, and sustainable construction project; list the financial, environmental, and sustainable benefits of ICF construction and how ICFs can contribute to LEEDr points earned on a building project; explain how involving engineers and architects early in the design process contributes to a safe, structurally sound, cost-efficient building project; and
describe the ICF installation process, including two critical elements of field installation.
A ten question quiz follows the course.
