The program shall introduce sustainable site design tools that help
earn LEED Sustainable Sites (SS), Water Efficiency (WE), and Innovative
Design (ID) credits. Through applied ecology, buildings connect with the land
and landscape in a manner that conserves natural resources, reduces heat
island effects, mitigates storm water, improves water efficiency and restores
habitat. The program will demonstrate how rainwater harvesting fits into
integrated stormwater design and management.

Objectives

1. How to achieve LEED SS, WE, and ID credits through innovative
site design.
2. How applied ecology and tools, such as rain water harvesting,
created wetlands, and ecosystem services, gain credits.
3. Learn about how Sustainable Site Initiative looks beyond the building to meet and exceed
LEED criteria.
4. Learn about a integrated systems approach to design that
strengthens the designteam and delivers a better product for the
owner
