The green building movement continues to gain momentum as developers, government agencies, and designers build structures to minimize environmental impact. To take full advantage of this movement and be a participant in the process, you must have a detailed understanding of the design concepts and guidelines used in LEED and other green building standards. Ready mixed concrete professionals need to understand both LEED 2009, which will be in use through June 2015, and LEED v4, which was adopted in July of 2013. You#ll come away with a detailed understanding of how green building rating systems work and how concrete contributes to each rating system. You#ll also learn about calculations and submittals you will need to participate on a LEED project. This course is intended for concrete professionals including sales and marketing, technical and operations staff.
Attendees will learn about the environmental attributes of concrete and how concrete can contribute to sustainable development and green building standards.
They will have a detailed understanding of how green building rating systems such as LEED, Architecture 2030 and International green Construction Code work.
They will learn details of what calculations, submittals and documentation are required to meet the standards.
