A society where a sustainably built environment is the norm represents a dramatic change in thinking and practice. This 2-day workshop is for industry, business, and community leaders called to create this change. It will introduce the concept of emergent leadership, a form of leadership uniquely suitable to sustainable thinking and practice and which can work for you, regardless of title or position. In addition to presentations detailing the elements of emergent leadership, workshop attendees will have the opportunity to participate in reflection, dialogue, structured small group exercises, including strategic team scenario planning, and personal leadership development in order to internalize key learnings, and kickstart implementation of emergent leadership concepts. Complimentary follow-up mentoring sessions are offered to those completing the workshop.
1. Identify the three elements comprising the system of Emergent Leadership.
2. For each element, identify key behaviors that youcan immediately apply in your role as sustainable building advocate.
3. Give an example of how you can use the concepts of emergent leadership to effectively transform your organization and/or community.
4. Explain how to create a personal plan of leadership development.
