The focus of this course is minimizing construction liability for green buildings and about the challenges and opportunities for green buildings under building codes, stormwater ordinances, roof leases, food production programs, and nutrient/carbon credit prog rams. The goal of this course is to help learners a) understand the legal implications of constructing and maintaining a green bui lding, and b) understand the place of green buildings within the context of the greater urban realm. This course is aimed towards
- Analyze the potential legal implications of constructing and
maintaining a green building.
- Identify the place of green buildings within the context of the
greater urban realm.
- Develop green building design components and maintenance mechanisms that are streamlined with coverage by insurance policies.
- Ensure that relevant green building components are covered by warranty, recognize warranty issues, and submit items for warranty in a timely and effective manner.
