Intent
Encourage the development and use of grid-source, renewable energy technologies on a net zero pollution basis.
Requirements
Provide at least 50% of the tenant’s electricity from renewable sources by engaging in at least a two-year renewable energy contract. Renewable sources are as defined by the Center for Resource Solutions (CRS) Green-e products certification requirements. Green power may be procured from a Green-e certified power
marketer, a Green-e accredited utility program, or through Green-e Tradable Renewable Certificates, or from a supply that meets the Green-e Renewable Power definition.
Green power can be purchased on a centralized basis and credit attributed to a certain retail project. However, the same power cannot be credited to another LEED project. A letter from the company owner should be submitted attesting to this.
