Materials and Resources (MR) - The longest part of a building’s life cycle is the use phase, commonly referred to as the operations phase. To target environmental impact reductions during building operations, the Materials and Resources (MR) credit category focuses on the constant flow of products being purchased and discarded to support building operations. The life cycle of these products and materials—from extraction, processing, and transportation to use and disposal—can cause a wide range of environmental and human health harms.
