Glenwood Neighborhood - Greening the existing (historic) homes while working to maintain the historic fabric of the neighborhood.

Objectives

  1. To apply Lthe EED-ND system to an existing neighborhood in a historic neighborhood using a case study of Glenwood, Greensboro, NC.
  2. To identify the overlap between the Historic Preservation and Sustainable Design through an understanding of existing toolkits from each discipline.
  3. To explore the potential for USGBC to develop a LEED system for Historic Preservation for neighborhoods that are not on historic registers.
  4. To propose changes to existing neighborhood design to enhance community sustainability through a case study of UNCG's Spartan Village.
