The Lee Company Headquarters in Franklin, TN received a LEED Silver certification in October of 2017. When designing the new facility, the company put their commitment to sustainability on full display. Among the many green features of the space, the building used close to 50% recycled and regionally sourced materials in construction and are particularly innovative in their use of municipal grey water for irrigation, reducing 100% of their exterior water use.

Objectives

  1. Identify how use of the LEED rating system contributed to improved building performance and cost savings, including reduction in potable water use, energy costs, and construction waste
  2. Learn how the project design team tackled challenges in construction, including innovative strategies such as VRF piping in an office environment and use of municipal purple pipe water (recycled grey-water) for irrigation
  3. Discover how the construction of the headquarters contributed to the growth of a mixed-use master plan for the new Berry Farms neighborhood in Franklin, TN
