About

This course will walk participants through the new LEED pilot credit, “Informing Design using Triple Bottom Line Analysis”, and introduces participants to a software solution called Autocase, which can help with achieving this credit. The pilot credit requires the use of a framework called “Triple Bottom Line, Cost-Benefit Analysis” (TBL-CBA). This course will explain what TBL-CBA means and how it can be used to:
1. Quantify externalities associated with LEED;
2. Cost-justify LEED certifications; and
3. Get a LEED point with the new pilot credit.
Participants will also be shown how Autocase has been designed to automate TBL-CBA and can be used to achieve the credit. The “Informing Design using Triple Bottom Line Analysis” pilot credit is available for LEED v4 for BD+C, O+M, ID+C, and ND.
The course is one hour in length and is worth 1.0 continuing education credits.

Objectives

  1. Introduction to the new LEED pilot credit: “Informing Design Using Triple Bottom Line Analysis” for LEED v4 for BD+C, O+M, ID+C, and ND rating systems.
  2. Understand what constitutes a triple bottom line cost benefit analysis (TBL-CBA), for the purpose of completing the LEED pilot credit “Informing Design Using Triple Bottom Line Analysis” for LEED v4 for BD+C, O+M, ID+C, and ND rating systems.
  3. Determine how TBL-CBA can demonstrate the economic, social, and environmental value of LEED design strategies through the LEED pilot credit “Informing Design Using Triple Bottom Line Analysis” for LEED v4 for BD+C, O+M, ID+C, and ND rating systems.
  4. Find out how to complete a TBL-CBA analysis using the Autocase for Buildings software solution for the purposes of attaining the LEED pilot credit “Informing Design Using Triple Bottom Line Analysis” for LEED v4 for BD+C, O+M, ID+C, and ND rating systems.
