Did you know aerospace is Colorado’s second largest industry? MSU Denver is taking a bold step to fly and explore by designing and building a new facility to support students who want to design and manufacture. Join this hard hat tour and see how the building is pursuing LEED Gold certification. This tour will be led by the project team. Anderson Mason Dale Architects will discuss the design of the building and GH Phipps Construction Company will discuss the construction of the building.

Objectives

  1. Learn about how building will achieve LEED v2009 Gold through different green building and green technology strategies.
  2. Discuss the strategies to comply with BD&C v2009 EA Prereq's and BD&C v2009 EA Credit 1.
  3. Discuss the strategies around BD&C v2009 Credit 2 Increased Ventilation while students are working the lab and also increasing thermal comfort by discussing BD&C v2009 Credit 7.1 Thermal Comfort - Design.
  4. Discuss the process that contractors are using to achieve 2 points in MR Credit 2: 75% Recycled or Salvaged Construction Waste Management in BD&C v2009.
