Session at the Alberta Sustainable Building Symposium 2014.
Eligible for 1 CE HOUR.
  • 1 CE

The Mosaic Centre For Conscious Community and Commerce aims to become Alberta’s first Living Building Challenge petal certified building. Further, this commercial project is targeting net-zero energy use — a challenge in our northern climate. This session will explore a high-performance building envelope and minimal mechanical/electrical systems that will work together to form an integrated response to the building’s physical environment. Presenters will also share their use of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) throughout the project’s design process to reach their ambitious targets. The building will house the Mosaic Family of Companies, providing office space and a range of amenities.

  1. Explore the components of an integrated response that leads to a Living Building certification.
  2. Increase knowledge about the technical aspects of a high-performance building.
  3. Learn about the motivations of the building’s tenants to undertake the project.
