This course was developed for practicing engineers within the AEC industry, and advanced students, who are looking for a primer on using Autodesk Simulation CFD on their projects. This course is is useful for people who already know the fundamentals of Autodesk Simulation CFD and want to dive deeper into simulating HVAC layouts with CFD.

Dive deeper into the application of Autodesk Simulation CFD to optimizing HVAC layouts. Proper air movement and temperature distribution help meet design goals related to energy consumption, contaminant containment, indoor air quality, and human comfort. These design goals can be addressed by evaluating CFD simulation results.

Objectives

  1. Characterize common HVAC components to accurately capture their physical behavior in Simulation CFD.
  2. Interpret flow simulation results to improve HVAC layout.
  3. Interpret thermal simulation results to improve HVAC layout.
  4. Practice the CFD simulation setup and results review process for an HVAC layout design scenario.
