Presentation: Architecture and Human Subconscious Responses to the Environment
Continuing education credits: Approved for 0.5 GBCI CE
This webinar reviews recent scientific findings relevant to our behavior in and around buildings. We will look at our innate responses to edges, patterns, and shapes and discusses how all these tendencies came to be for one very good reason: they helped us survive. The most successful green buildings in the 21st century will use this new science to good advantage; for the more we build buildings people like to look at and ‘attach to' - the more likely the new constructions wilI last.

Presentation: Understanding EcoDistricts
Continuing education credits: Approved for 0.5 GBCI CE
This lesson is intended to identify practices and considerations for neighborhood-based sustainability issues, through the concept called EcoDistricts. While much of the lesson focuses on the concepts that define EcoDistricts and neighborhood scale sustainability challenges, the lesson will also introduce models and frameworks such as the EcoDistricts Protocol as a guideline for EcoDistrict development.
