Join the Emerging Professionals on a tour of CHaRM, The Center for Hard to Recycle Materials, and an educational session on the new TRUE Zero Waste professional credential and facility certification on Thursday, June 14.

CHaRM is a permanent drop-off facility that aims to improve our environmental health by encouraging reuse and diverting thousands of pounds of household hazardous waste, bulky trash and other hard to recycle items from Metro-Atlanta landfills and water system. You will learn how certain materials are recycled and upcycled and how products are created with a cradle-to-cradle approach to avoid generating non-recyclable waste in the first place.

After the tour, Bruce Battle, Burton Energy Group and Laurene Hamilton, Recycling Analyst at Cox Enterprises, will provide an overview of the TRUE Zero Waste certification system, which enables facilities to define, pursue and achieve their zero waste goals, cutting their carbon footprint and supporting public health. They will explain how the scorecard works and discuss real-life examples of how they’ve implemented zero waste best practices in their organization.

Bring your own lunch.
