Join USGBC Tennessee, the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Tennessee Chapter, Interface Carpet, and Hands on Nashville as we work with Pennington Elementary on Saturday, Sept. 24 for the 2016 Green Apple Day of Service and the 25th Anniversary of Hands On Nashville Day.
Our work will focus on:
- Installing new area rugs in specific classrooms, dusting overhead lights in classrooms, and air sealing windows
- Replacing teacher’s auxiliary lamps’ bulbs with LEDs.
- Site working including mulching playgrounds, painting basketball goals, planting daffodils, and planting trees
Green Apple Day of Service is a global movement to put all children in schools where they have clean and healthy air to breathe, where energy and resources are conserved, and where they can be inspired to dream of a brighter future.
Green Apple Day of Service and Hands On Nashville Day is family-friendly: Youth ages 13 and older are invited to participate with an adult. Volunteers must be 18 or older to participate without an adult.
Dress for a Mess: Please wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Reusable water bottles are also encouraged!
