Tour Epicurean on May 2 with the USGBC Minnesota Northeast Branch.

Epicurean is based in Superior, Wisconsin, and sells kitchen cutting boards and tools that are long-lasting, durable and environmentally responsible, from start to finish. The company uses green materials and a production process that aims to minimize and recycle waste.

Epicurean originated out of a company building eco-friendly municipal skate parks. They learned then that the wood composite used in the ramps was extremely durable and non-porous — and food and dishwasher safe. The company used the excess material to create cutting boards as gifts for family and friends. Demand increased, and the company began producing a variety of cutting boards and kitchen tools from the wood composite.
