Register today for the first installment of the Greening Your Home Speaker series, taking place April 6 in Marcellus.

The series features sustainability experts who'll give tips on how you can enhance your space, improve indoor air quality and conserve energy — all on a small budget. Each week, you'll leave with a short checklist of items to green your home without breaking the bank.

In this latest installment, speaker and mechanical engineer Gretchen Bevard will share water conservation strategies for your home. Bevard is the owner of GMB Consulting Services, LLC, and holds a LEED AP BD+C credential.

Bevard's presentation, "How to Conserve Water and Energy with a Small Wallet," will help you save money on your water bill and extend the life of your septic tank while protecting local streams, rivers and lakes. There also are many ways you can reduce your energy consumption that will save you money in utility bills along with helping the environment for future generations.
