Green, or vegetated, roofs touch six categories and many points within LEED v4.

Join USGBC Minnesota for our August seminar to learn more about the industry, design criteria, what products are available, how to maintain green roofs, and how they perform in the northern climate. We will review several examples, including hospitals and pollinator friendly buildings.

Learning objectives

  1. Explain how water is used and saved on vegetated roofs. (LEED Credits: Integrative Process, Water Related Systems; Rain Management)
  2. Describe how restoring habitat in the built environment can not only improve ecosystems, but also increase the human desire to enjoy outdoor rooftop space. (LEED Credits: Site Development- Protect or Restore Habitat; Open Space; Heat Island Reduction)
  3. Understand how to monitor the performance of vegetated roofs in the region. (LEED Credit: Innovation)
  4. Understand what role professionals play to making green roofs successful.

This session qualifies for one hour of LEED specific GBCI CE.
