Join USGBC Tennessee and the Tennessee Concrete Association for an educational workshop led by Gregg A. Lewis in Nashville.

Lewis, an AIA LEED AP who's the Senior Director for Building Innovations at the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, will share how concrete helps make better buildings. Strength, durability and safety are keys to resilience and sustainability in our communities.

Building for the future requires professionals to consider the long-term impacts of their design decisions. Similarly, architects and engineers must be prepared to address the growing risks of extreme weather on the built environment and the people we serve through design.

The future of green building will require increased material transparency, life cycle analyses, improved building performance characteristics, and further reducing adverse human health impacts of our buildings. The concrete industry is leading the way on each of these issues and the session will show participants how to capture these benefits.

This is an intermediate session with will feature 4.5 hours of AIA LU as well as GBCI hours. At the end of the course, participates will:

  1. Understand how to access resources to design better buildings using concrete.
  2. Understand how to optimize a building’s performance through the use of concrete.
  3. Recognize how concrete construction helps create more resilient communities.
  4. Communicate the short term and long term cost benefits of building with concrete.

Tickets will be $89 per person, and scholarships are available to any design firm employee.
