USGBC Arizona Sonoran Branch: Volunteer to Make Our Schools Greener

Register for event

The Sonoran Branch of USGBC Arizona seeks volunteers to help support local Green Apple Day of Service programs at schools in Tucson and southern Arizona. We will meet Thursday, July 7 to re-establish a Green Schools Committee and discuss how to reach out to local schools to increase participation in the Green Apple program.

This will be the fifth Green Apple Day held in southern Arizona. Previous school programs have included everything from setting up an aquaponics system to building a greenhouse out of recycled materials to creating a butterfly habitat.

This year's Green Apple Day of Service is set for Saturday, Sept. 24. The Green Schools Committee will develop creative ways to get more schools to hold Green Apple community-service day activities, and it also will foster greener schools in our community throughout the year.

All children should attend schools where they have clean and healthy air to breathe, where energy and resources are conserved and where they can be inspired to dream of a brighter future. Help us make those aspirations a reality in southern Arizona!
