Join USGBC Nevada on Tuesday Aug. 9 as Executive Director Lauren Boitel of Green Chips leads a panel discussion on the current state of sustainability in southern Nevada.
Earlier this year, Green Chips released the Southern Nevada State of Sustainability Report 2016, a much-needed resource with up-to-date information on the current state of green building, water and energy usage, recycling, and clean energy projects. Additionally, the report develops an inclusive concept of sustainability, recognizing the interconnectedness of factors, such as the built environment, the economy, energy, transportation, public health, social equity, community and nature.
In compiling the report, Green Chips had three major goals:
- strengthening inclusive connections to continually improve our community
- establishing action plans to meet high-level goals and metrics through collaborative cross-sector partnerships
- leveraging the efficiency and synergy of shared economic and human capital.
With a scope as broad as sustainability, the formation of an inclusive community network is imperative to address the diverse needs of the Las Vegas metropolitan area and its neighbors.
