Join us at Calvary Women's Services on Saturday, May 20, and support their efforts to make their building more sustainable, energy- and cost-efficient, and comfortable for residents and staff.

Calvary Women's Services provides housing, health, education, and employment programs for women who are homeless in DC. Every five days, a woman moves from Calvary into her own home.

In 2016, USGBC National Capital Region's Emerging Professionals partnered with Calvary to create a comprehensive plan that included a broad range of measures to increase energy savings, further sustainable resource use and enhance wellness. Learn more about this phase of the project.

On May 20, we'll complete some of the final tasks outlined in this sustainability plan, including garden maintenance and planting, patio maintenance, painting, and installing piping insulation. Come and lend a hand to help this amazing organization as it creates a more sustainable environment and a better future for our community.

Our thanks to the following organizations that have donated materials and services for this phase of the project: Lutron, Seawall, and Living Alchemy.

Please note, this opportunity is only open to USGBC National Capital Region members. Join our community today.
