Walter Robbs' Downtown Winston-Salem office embraces sustainability from the scale of the city block to the finishes on its floors. Learn about the development of Trader's Row and Winston-Salem's first LEED certified project in this presentation and guided tour, "Scales of Sustainability: A Case Study in Revitalization Through Design."

Learning objectives

  1. Understand the impact designers and developers can have by embracing density and urban scale.
  2. Learn about the process of pursuing and attaining LEED certification, and explore lessons learned.
  3. Experience the value that can be added to an office setting by following LEED guidelines and sustainable principles.
  4. Compare and contrast examples of "typical construction" with construction guided by a sustainable mindset.
