New modules for the LEED web-based reference guide

With the launch of LEED v4, USGBC introduced a new format for the LEED reference guides: web-based. Integrated into the LEED credit library, this resource combines all of the information in the hard copy/pdf versions of the guides with additional videos, tutorials and templates. It was built so that we could continuously add to it, making it a resource that continues to grow. When consumers talk, businesses listen

These days, I often hear my peers complaining about a perceived lack of agency. For example, midterm elections are predicted to have little affect on partisan gridlock in Congress, and despite a massive public outcry, net-neutrality is still at risk of becoming a thing of the past. The power of the vote and the voice, I am told, is just not what it used to be.  I can certainly empathize with this, but I find it all too often overlooks one outstanding outlet for expression: consumption....

Update: LEED for Homes v2008 energy requirements

Beginning on Oct. 1, 2014, newly registering LEED Homes projects are required to meet new energy requirements. Earlier this year, USGBC members voted in favor of an update to the LEED for Homes v2008 energy requirements, addressing changes made to energy codes over the last three years in the residential construction market sector. This update does not impact LEED Midrise projects. The change affects EA credit 1: Optimize Energy Performance in two ways: The update changes the...
